Beat the Heat: Stay Cool During Summer Workouts

When the temperature climbs, your performance doesn’t have to drop. A few smart cooling habits (and the right gear) can help you train safer, recover faster, and feel better from warm-up to cooldown.

1) Hydrate early—and keep it cold

Start hydrating 1–2 hours before training. During your workout, sip consistently instead of waiting until you’re thirsty. Cold water can feel more refreshing and may help you stay comfortable when it’s hot.

Healthy Orbit Fitness pick: insulated water bottles and shaker bottles that keep drinks cooler longer—great for gym sessions, outdoor walks, and bike rides.

Shop our insulated water bottles to keep your drink colder for longer.

2) Use cooling towels the right way

Wet the towel, wring it out, then snap it to activate the cooling effect. Place it on pulse points like the back of your neck, wrists, or behind the knees between sets.

Grab our cooling towels for quick cooldowns between sets.

3) Choose breathable activewear

Look for lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics that pull sweat away from your skin. A good fit matters too—airflow helps your body cool itself.

4) Add airflow: portable fans & gym accessories

If you train at home or outdoors, a small fan can make a big difference. Even a little airflow helps sweat evaporate more efficiently.

Add airflow with our portable fans for home gym or outdoor sessions.

5) Don’t forget electrolytes (especially if you sweat a lot)

Sweat doesn’t just mean water loss—you also lose electrolytes. If you’re training hard, doing long sessions, or sweating heavily, consider an electrolyte option that fits your routine.

Quick safety reminder

If you feel dizzy, unusually weak, nauseous, or stop sweating, end the workout and cool down immediately. When in doubt, choose a cooler time of day or train indoors.
